About this course

Functional Skills Maths Level 2. Study online at your own pace. This level 2 functional skills maths course takes around 6 months and fits around work, family, or other commitments. It covers the maths skills you need for everyday life and employment, from working with numbers and percentages to interpreting data and solving practical problems. When employers ask for GCSE maths or equivalent, a level 2 functional skills maths qualification meets that requirement. You'll sit an external exam to complete the course.

Who this course is for

In line with the Department for Education’s (DfE) Maths Functional Skills subject content, Functional Skills mathematics qualifications should enable the learner to develop confidence in using mathematics and provide a foundation for progression into employment or further technical education and develop skills for everyday life, where the skills gained can be applied to solve mathematical problems.

Entry requirements

These qualifications are designed for learners aged 19 and above. There are no specific recommended prior learning requirements for these qualifications. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 1 qualification.
