About this course

Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Course in Birmingham. Evening classes run at South & City College Birmingham Digbeth Campus, part-time over one year. Fees vary depending on your circumstances; visit the college website or call for details.

The course covers the maths skills adults use at work and in everyday life. You'll work through number, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratio, measurement, geometry, and data handling. It builds on Level 1 study and takes you to the standard employers recognise as a GCSE maths equivalent.

You'll need proof of a Level 1 qualification or equivalent, plus an initial assessment to confirm the right starting point. You'll finish with a Functional Skills Qualification in Mathematics at Level 2.

Who this course is for

At four of our campuses across Birmingham, we have courses aimed at improving the literacy and numeracy of adults. We offer Functional Skills to adults who would like to develop these skills beyond an entry level qualification. Our courses will help to support and develop confidence with Maths.

Entry requirements

Proof of a qualification at level 1 or equivalent and a successful initial assessment so that we can assess the functional skill level you need to be placed on.
