Free Teaching Assistant Level 2 Course in Scarborough. Daytime classes run at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, 12 weeks part-time, at a manageable pace that fits around other commitments. You'll cover the skills and knowledge needed to support learning in school and college settings, from working with pupils to understanding your role within a team. This is a free teaching assistant course for adults aged 19 and over. Eligibility is checked at enrolment, and an initial assessment helps make sure the level is right for you.
Who this course is for
The qualification is aimed at a range of learners, including young people, mature learners, learners with special educational needs or where English is an additional language, who are thinking of working in a school or college setting.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

How you will learn
Classes are delivered in a classroom setting over 12 weeks. You'll be assessed through written assignments and portfolio evidence that you build up during the course. There are no formal exams. Your tutor will guide you through each topic and support you in completing your assessments.
