About this course

Free Level 3 Understanding the Principles of Dementia Care Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your existing commitments. There are no formal entry requirements. The course covers the causes and types of dementia, how dementia is diagnosed, person-centred approaches to care, communication, equality and inclusion, rights and choices, and medication administration. Seven units are spread across 12 months, with an expectation of around 5 to 10 hours of study per week. How you will learn

Assessment is through a range of written methods, including short answer questions and longer essay-style questions. There are no timetabled lessons to attend.
