About this course

Free Level 2 Dementia Care Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your other commitments. You'll cover the causes and types of dementia, how it's diagnosed, person-centred approaches to care, communication, equality and inclusion, rights and choices, and medication principles. Good written English is desirable; there are no other entry requirements. The course runs over 12 weeks, with around 5 to 10 hours of study expected each week.

Who this course is for

This course introduces you to dementia and will help you develop an awareness of dementia, what it is and how it can affect different people. You will learn about the most common causes of dementia and the factors relating to an individual's experience of dementia, and how a person-centred approach to care can enable individuals with dementia to experience well-being. Finally, you will explore common medications used within the field of dementia care and how medication can be used appropriately and effectively using a person-centred approach to care.
