About this course

Free Level 3 Performing and Production Arts Course in Welwyn Garden City. Classes run at Oaklands College Welwyn Garden City Campus, full-time during the day.

The course runs over 36 weeks and covers two pathways. On the Performance pathway, you study acting, singing, and dance. On the Production pathway, you develop hands-on backstage skills across a range of technical roles. Both pathways build practical and academic skills to a high standard.

You'll need at least four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including Maths and English, or a full Level 2 with equivalent grades. You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Performing and Production Arts.

Who this course is for

This two-year course is designed to develop your practical and academic skills so you can either progress onto university or directly into the industry. Performance pathway � You will study acting, singing and dance in equal measure. This will allow you to develop your practical skills to a high standard. And make you more employable moving into this exciting industry. Production pathway � You will learn hands on skills covering a wide range of backstage roles giving you an understanding of the importance of these roles when staging live shows. You will be using technology with lights and sound, communication and organisation skills. You will work closely together performance and production to stage high quality live performances.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 4 GCSEs grade 9 � 4 including Maths and English or a full Level 2 and grades 9 � 4 including English & Maths.
