About this course

Free Level 3 Performing and Production Arts Course in Islington. Classes run at Capital City College Holloway Campus, full-time during the day.

The course offers pathways in dance, theatre, and production. You can also combine disciplines where possible. Work experience is built into the course. You'll take part in productions at venues and community settings across the area. The course runs for 37 weeks.

You'll need four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language or Maths and a Music or Performing Arts subject. An equivalent Level 2 qualification at Merit or above is also accepted. All applicants attend an interview and audition. You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Performing and Production Arts.

Who this course is for

Our Level 3 Diploma / Extended Diploma in Musical Theatre and Dance is a two-year, full-time course for creative, ambitious performers who want to develop the skills, confidence and versatility needed for the performing arts industry or higher education.This is a practical, project-based course where students learn through creating, rehearsing, performing and reflecting. The programme combines the fundamentals of musical theatre, dance and performance with a diverse curriculum that encourages students to explore a wide range of styles, techniques and creative approaches.We are proud to be an inclusive course that values diversity, accessibility and representation in the arts. Based within our centre is Angel Shed Theatre Company, a leading inclusive theatre company that gives students unique access to inclusive arts practice, workshops, and real-world experience. Students may also have opportunities to complete work experience with Angel Shed, developing vital skills in community arts, accessibility and professional practice.Students also benefit from excellent industry and higher education links, including connections with Donmar Warehouse, Almeida Theatre, Park Theatre, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and University of East London's Musical Theatre and Dance pathways.For school leavers aged 16-18, there are no tuition fees.

Classes meet on multiple days each week, with sessions spread across mornings and afternoons. Work experience with industry is part of the course.
