About this course

Level 3 IT Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Nottingham College City Hub, full-time over two years.

Students aged 16 to 18 years old do not pay tuition fees. If you are 19 or over, you may still be eligible for funding. The Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Extended Diploma in Information Technology covers networking, software development, cyber security, data management, and systems analysis. You'll also explore web development and IT project management.

You'll need five GCSEs at grades A* to C, including English, Maths, and IT, or a relevant Level 2 IT qualification with equivalent GCSE grades. An interview is part of the application. You'll finish with a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Information Technology.

Entry requirements

You'll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades 9-5 (A*-C), including English, Maths and IT, or a relevant Level 2 IT qualification with GCSE English and Maths at grades 9-5 (A*-C). You also will need to attend an interview, to ensure you have the sufficient IT knowledge and skills required to enrol on this course. Relevant industry experience would also be considered.
