About this course

Free BTEC National Diploma in Creative Media Practice in Burton-on-Trent. Classes run at Burton Town Centre Campus, full-time over two years.

In year one, you build core skills in photography, graphic design, and videography. You'll work with Adobe Creative Cloud tools including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and Illustrator. The campus has an Apple Mac suite, a photography studio, and a green screen space. In year two, you develop an advanced portfolio and prepare for your next steps. The course covers camera work, digital imaging, studio practice, and specialist genres such as fashion, documentary, and advertising.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel Level 3 National Diploma in Creative Media Practice.

Who this course is for

You will study all aspects of camera control, traditional darkroom procedures, digital imaging, studio practice and image manipulation. You will gain experience of studio and location photography, experimental photographic techniques and specialist photographic genres, including fine art, documentary, editorial, fashion and advertising. Work produced during the course will be exhibited and published through various media.

Entry requirements

Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C or above (if this does not include English and maths these MUST be studied as part of the Level 3 programme) or Level 2 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths; successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Level 2 programme (progressing learners).
