About this course

Free BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design Practice in Burton-on-Trent. Classes run at Burton Town Centre Campus, full-time over two years. The course is free if you are 16 to 18 years old. If you are 19 or over, fees may apply.

The course covers garment making, styling, design, interiors, print, photography, illustration, and CAD. You will build practical creative skills across a broad range of disciplines. There is also an end-of-year fashion show to take part in.

You will need at least four GCSEs at grade 4, including English or maths, or a relevant Level 2 qualification. You will finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Diploma in Art and Design Practice.

Who this course is for

This course will enable you to gain a broad understanding of fashion and textiles, and develop your practical and creative skills to prepare you for a career in the industry. You will enhance your fashion and textiles knowledge and develop skills in areas such as garment making, styling, design, interiors, print, photography, illustration and CAD. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the end of year fashion show.

Entry requirements

Applicants will be expected to have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade 4 including either English or maths, (or) A level 2 subject specific qualification including a level 2 or equivalent in either English or maths (or) Equivalent occupational experience including level 2 or equivalent in English or maths.

You will attend daytime classes at Burton Town Centre Campus and develop your skills through hands-on making, designing, and creative problem-solving.
