Free Level 3 Creative Media Practice Course in Boston. Classes run at Boston College, full-time over two years.

The course covers television, film, animation, and digital media production. You'll work in a film and TV studio and editing suites, planning and producing a range of media projects. Topics include filmmaking, animation, games design, podcasting, social media content, and radio production.

You'll need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, or a Level 2 qualification at Merit standard, plus a portfolio of work. You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC National Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice.

Who this course is for

Creative media is the perfect course for anyone who has a passion and love for Television, Film and Animation. This is a practical and industry-focused course which will enable you to progress onto a career as a filmmaker, animator, games designer, YouTuber, social media content producer, Podcaster or a radio producer. You will work within our versatile Film and TV Studio and creative editing suites to gain experience in the planning and production of a wide variety of media products, as well as engaging with local and national businesses to work on live industry briefs. You will learn to produce both fictional and factual films, animations, social media content (such as YouTube) and much more. Your lecturers all have a working knowledge of the media industry and are still actively involved in the business outside of the College, resulting in accurate, up to date knowledge being shared in lectures.

Entry requirements

The entry qualifications for the Level 3 Creative Media Practice National Extended Diploma are five GCSEs at grades 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) or equivalent, and a portfolio of work, or a Level 2 qualification to a Merit standard. If you do not have a portfolio of work to bring to the interview, you may be set a task to complete within 2 weeks as a condition to enrolment.
