Free BTEC Level 2 Art and Design Course in Boston. Classes run at Boston College, full-time during the day.

The course covers a wide range of disciplines. You'll explore fine art, painting, sculpture, metalwork, print, photography, graphic design, and 3D and 4D media. Each area introduces you to different processes and encourages you to experiment. The course runs over nine months.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Diploma in Art and Design Skills.

Who this course is for

The Level 2 Art and Design Diploma is for those who are passionate about Art and Design. The course will help you develop your practical skills in many areas Including: fine art, painting, sculpture, metalwork, print, plaster, photography, 3D designs, graphic design and 4D time-based media. You will be introduced to each area and process and be encouraged to experiment. Your lecturers all have a working knowledge of the art and design industry and are all still active in the business outside of the college, resulting in accurate, up-to -ate knowledge being shared throughout the course.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 1 or above (Old GCSE grade G and above) or equivalent and a portfolio of work will be required when you are invited in for a review. If you do not have a portfolio of work to bring to the interview, you may be set a task to complete within 2 weeks as a condition to enrolment. If you do not meet the entry requirements, the Level 1 Exploring the Creative Arts Extended Certificate could be for you.

Assessment is portfolio-based, drawing on the work you produce across all areas of the course. Your tutors have active experience in the art and design industry.

You'll need a portfolio of existing work for your enrolment review. If you don't have one ready, you may be given a task to complete within two weeks instead. Boston College will confirm any other materials you need before you start.
