About this course

Level 3 Art and Design Course in Benfleet. Classes run at USP College Seevic Campus, full-time over two years. The course is funded for learners aged 16 to 18 years old. If you are 19 or over, fees may apply, though an Advanced Learner Loan could help.

This art and design qualification covers a broad range of creative disciplines. You will work on projects in painting, printmaking, sculpture, graphic image-making, illustration, photography, fashion, public art, and special effects make-up. You will also develop research, communication, and professional skills through live briefs and team projects.

You will finish with a University of the Arts London Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication.

Who this course is for

Do you have artistic flair? This course will see you learn more about the creative and practical side of art and design. Art is a general term, which encompasses many areas of specialisation and different types of employment. Design is a fascinating, exciting and rewarding way of earning a living; modern society cannot function without it.

You will undertake a range of specialist projects, including: graphics, printing, sculpting, painting, advertising, marketing and branding, illustration, public artwork and special effects make-up.

Entry requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English Language or Maths. Grade 4 or above in an Art, Design or Media based GCSE is preferred.

Students will be required to present a portfolio or sketchbook of artwork as part of the interview process to demonstrate commitment and potential
