About this course

Level 2 Sport Course in Wigan. Classes run at Wigan Skills Centre, full-time during the day over 30 weeks. The course is free if you're 16 to 18 years old, or 19 to 24 years old with an Education, Health and Care Plan. Fees may apply otherwise.

You'll explore the sport, fitness and active leisure sector. The course builds practical skills alongside employability skills that employers value. You'll also develop knowledge to support progression into further study, apprenticeships, or work in sport and fitness.

You'll finish with a Gateway Qualifications Level 2 Certificate in Sport, Fitness and Active Leisure.

This course is designed for 16 - 18-year-olds who enjoy sport, physical activity and wellbeing, and who want to explore career opportunities within the sport and fitness industry.

They will learn about the sport, fitness and active leisure sector, develop practical skills, and build important employability skills that can support progression into further education, apprenticeships or employment.

The qualification combines industry knowledge with transferable skills that are valued by employers.
