About this course

Level 2 Music Performance and Production Course in Eastbourne. Classes run at East Sussex College Eastbourne Campus, full-time during the day.

The course runs for one year. You'll work on practical projects to find your strengths. Then you choose a specialist pathway: performance or production. Production covers recording, producing, and engineering. You'll record a multi-track album, develop session musician skills, and help organise live performances. You'll also work to a commission brief and explore self-employment in the music industry. All assessment is project-based. There are no exams.

You'll need at least four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English or maths at grade 3, plus a basic ability on an instrument. You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Music Performance and Production.

Who this course is for

This one-year course, will prepare you for employment or for progression to our Level 3 Music Production course. Practical project work lets you establish your interests and strengths, before progressing to either a performance-based specialist pathway, or a production based one. There are no examinations on this course.

Entry requirements

Minimum four grade 3-9 at GCSE or successful completion of the Level 1 course, and English or maths at grade 3. Basic ability on a musical instrument to be shared at interview.
