Free Level 2 Joinery Course in Bristol. Classes run full-time during the day at South Bristol Skills Academy. This is a focused, full-time route that takes around one year to complete. You'll develop the practical joinery and woodworking skills that employers in the construction trades look for. The course covers the knowledge and hands-on techniques behind wood occupations, from setting out and cutting to fixing and finishing. You'll need at least three GCSEs at grade D or above, including English and Maths, and you'll sit an initial assessment before you start.
Who this course is for
Our apprenticeships give learners industry recognised qualifications and the practical skills they need to become successful employees in the trade. Throughout the two year apprenticeship, your trainee will learn job specific skills whilst working with you and also obtain training at the college. You will need to employ them and they must receive the national minimum wage of 3.30 per hour.

How you will learn
You'll learn through a mix of practical workshop sessions and classroom-based study at South Bristol Skills Academy. Assessment combines on-the-job observation of your practical skills, written assignments, and knowledge tests. A college assessor will work with you throughout the course to track your progress against the NVQ standards.
