Free Level 2 Information and Creative Technology Course in Liverpool. Classes run at The City of Liverpool College Arts Centre, full-time during the day.

The course takes one year to complete. You'll explore how the online world and technology systems work. Units cover mobile app development, computer networks, digital portfolios, computer security, and installing and maintaining software. You'll also get hands-on experience with hardware. The course suits learners with a Level 1 qualification or equivalent, such as Grade 2s or 3s in Maths and English.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC First Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology.

Who this course is for

What does it cover? (modules) The Online World Technology Systems Digital Portfolio Installing and Maintaining Computer Software Mobile App Development Automated Computer Systems Computer Security in practice Computer networks You will research the online world and technology systems, design and create a mobile app, learn about networking and creating your own network, install hardware into computers as part of your assignment and learn how this can be maintained. Our very own robot, Pepper will make an appearance and you will design, develop and install a program. Finally, you will learn the importance of computer security and apply your knowledge in securing machines in our computer hardware room. How is it assessed? You will be internally assessed through assignments set and marked by your teachers. Work will be graded at a Pass, Merit or Distinction. Two externally assessed exams at the end of the year.

Open to learners of all ages. Ideal for you if you have a Level 1 qualification or equivalent. (Grade 2s and 3s in Maths and English).
