About this course

Free Level 2 Information and Creative Technology Course in Widnes. Classes run at Riverside College Kingsway Campus, full-time during the day. The course is for 16 to 18 year olds who are normally eligible for free tuition.

Over one year, you'll learn to set up and maintain computer systems, install hardware safely, and create digital graphics and websites. You'll also use Excel and Access to design data systems, and build your understanding of how technology and online systems work. Entry is based on your GCSE results and a college interview.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC First Extended Certificate in Information and Creative Technology.

Who this course is for

Aimed at School Leavers. During this course you will learn how to set up and maintain computer systems. You will be able to carry out day-to-day tasks for safely installing hardware and complete practical projects that cover the creative side of IT, including creating digital graphics and websites. You will also develop skills to design and create systems using Excel and Access. You will also develop your wider knowledge of the Online World and Technology Systems.
