Free Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Tamworth. Classes run at Tamworth College, full-time during the day, over 35 weeks. You'll train in a salon environment, working on real paying clients and building practical skills alongside theory. The course covers cutting, colouring, styling, and the science behind hair and scalp. Entry requires a Level 1 Hairdressing qualification or English and maths GCSEs at Grade 4 or above. This City and Guilds level 2 hairdressing qualification is a strong foundation for junior salon work.

Who this course is for

Are you a school leaver 16-19? Fancy�the idea of working in the hair industry?�The level 2 diploma in women's hairdressing is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a junior hairdresser/stylist. You will experience working in a real salon environment where skills are practiced and performed on real paying clients. The course is made up of both theory and practical session, exams�and assignments.

There is a requirement to purchase a hairdressing kit and uniform. Uniform and kit are a compulsory requirement of the course.

Entry requirements

A Level 1 qualification in Hairdressing or English and maths GCSEs at Grade 4 or above.

Learning is split between theory sessions and hands-on practical work in a salon environment. You'll work on real paying clients as part of your training. Assessment includes practical observations, written exams, and assignments. Both your technical skills and your underpinning knowledge are assessed throughout the course.
