About this course

Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Daventry. Classes run at Northampton College at Daventry, full-time during the day. The course is free if you are 16 to 18 years old. If you are 19 or over, fees may apply, so contact the college for details.

Over one year, you'll learn cutting, colouring, and lightening hair, along with shampooing, conditioning, and dressing techniques. You'll also cover client consultation, health and safety, and how to promote products and services. Practical workshops are supported by theory sessions and independent study.

You'll need four GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, or a relevant Level 1 qualification. Adult learners are assessed individually. You'll finish with a City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing.

Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at Grade 3 or above or an appropriate Level 1 qualification. Adult students will be assessed on an individual basis dependent on qualifications/previous work history.

Theory is assessed through written and online external tests, plus some assignment work. You'll also build a portfolio of evidence throughout the course.
