About this course

Level 3 Hairdressing Course in Northampton. Evening classes run at Northampton College Lower Mounts, one evening a week from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.

The course covers women's hairdressing, including client consultation, cutting techniques, colouring, styling and dressing hair, and promoting salon products and services. You'll also study health and safety. Classes run over one year, part-time. You'll need to set aside around four hours a week outside class for study and practice. You must hold a relevant Level 2 hairdressing qualification to join.

You'll finish with a City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Hairdressing.

How you will learn

You'll initially work on fellow students and will also be assessed on external paying clients. A small registration fee applies when you bring a client for a practical assessment.

The centre will provide most materials. Northampton College Lower Mounts will confirm anything else you need before you start. Be prepared to allow other students to practise on you during sessions, as students initially work on each other.
