Free Level 2 Hairdressing Course in Doncaster. Daytime classes run at Doncaster Deaf Trust, with flexible study across the year. The centre has its own on-site hair salon open to the public, so you practise on real clients as part of your training. This level 2 hairdressing qualification covers the core skills employers look for in a salon environment. The course takes around one year to complete.
Who this course is for
The college has its own on-site hair salon which is open to the public, giving students at all levels an opportunity to work in a realistic environment to learn the skills to work in the industry. Courses are available from Entry level to Level 3 which will take them from an introduction to the sector through to working in the hairdressing industry.
What you will learn
You'll cut and style women's hair using a range of techniques.
You'll colour and lighten hair, including tinting and bleaching.
You'll shampoo, condition, and treat the scalp and hair.
You'll set and dress hair using heated and non-heated methods.
You'll consult with clients to identify their needs and recommend services.
You'll follow health, safety, and hygiene standards in a salon environment.
How you will learn
You'll learn through hands-on practice in the centre's on-site salon, working on members of the public alongside classroom sessions. Assessment includes practical observations, where an assessor watches you carry out salon services to the required standard, and written or online knowledge tests. You'll build a portfolio of evidence as you progress through the course.
