Level 2 Hair Professionals - Barbering Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You train in a barbershop role while you earn, with your employer guiding your practical skills from day one. If you're 16 to 18 years old, the course may be fully funded. If you're 19 or over, fees may apply, though co-funding may reduce your contribution. You'll develop cutting and barbering techniques, client reception skills, and the theory behind professional barbering practice. This City and Guilds hair professionals - barbering qualification typically takes 24 months to complete.
Who this course is for
NVQ L2 barbering
You will be working full time in a Barbers earning the apprentice NWM
Your duties will include, reception, meeting and greeting.
You maybe taught to shampoo if the client requires.
Your employer will quickly start training in cutting and barbering techniques, but you won't be expected to do paying clients until your employer is happy with your training.
You wil be taught theory and some additional practical skills by the training provider - alongside any functional skills if required.

How you will learn
You learn on the job, working full-time in a barber shop. Your employer trains you in practical cutting and barbering techniques at a pace they're comfortable with. A training provider delivers theory sessions and any Functional Skills alongside your workplace learning. Assessment is through observed practical work, knowledge tests, and a portfolio of evidence built up over the 24-month programme.
