About this course
Free Level 2 Functional Skills English Course. Work-based training at your workplace. You study while you're in a job role, fitting learning around your work. This is the GCSE English equivalent for adults, and many employers accept it where they ask for GCSE English or equivalent. The course takes around 12 months. It covers reading, writing, and communicating effectively in everyday and work situations. NCFE awards the qualification.

This qualification is suitable for candidates aged 14 and above. The NCFE Functional Skills qualification in English at Level 2 is an ideal qualification for candidates wishing to develop practical, transferable skills in English in order to work confidently, effectively and independently in life. It is suitable for a wide range of individuals and is fundamental to the successful completion of various wider qualifications and frameworks, such as the Diploma and Apprenticeships.

already achieved a Level 1 qualification.

How you will learn
Assessment is through externally set and marked exams covering reading, writing, and speaking, listening, and communication. You'll complete these assessments at the end of the course. Learning takes place in your workplace, supported by your employer. Your progress is tracked throughout the 12 months, with support to prepare you for each assessed component.
