Free Level 2 Car Mechanic Course in Burton-on-Trent. Classes run full-time at Burton Town Centre Campus, five days a week during the day. You'll study both the theory and practical side of light vehicle maintenance and repair, covering engine components, electrical systems, and chassis units. Health and safety in a garage environment is also part of the programme. The course runs for one year. Entry requires a minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above, or a Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths, plus a successful interview and initial assessment.
Who this course is for
You will study both the theoretical and practical aspects of routine maintenance on light vehicles, which will include areas such as removal and replacement of components from the engine, electrical and chassis units.
Entry requirements
Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade D or above (if this does not include English and maths these MUST be studied as part of the Level 2 programme) or Level 1 Functional Skills equivalent in English and maths; successful interview and initial assessment; successful completion of Level 1 programme (progressing learners).
