About this course

Free Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course in Rugby. Classes run at Rugby Hair & Beauty Academy. You'll attend the academy three to four days per week and train in a fully equipped commercial salon, working with real paying clients from the start. The course covers facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, massage, makeup, and reception duties, alongside health and safety and professional practice. If you don't hold a GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths, Functional Skills will be built into your training. The course takes one year full-time.

Who this course is for

Beauty Therapy is a growing industry with services such as spray tanning waxing and body massage becoming more and more popular. On a Full Time Beauty Therapy Course with Heart of England Training you will be based at one of our training centres which are fully functional commercial salons, complete with additional study rooms enabling you to study the theory behind the treatments and then put your skills into practice on real clients.

We offer Beauty Therapy at levels 1, 2 and 3. So you can progress through all levels with us without moving to another training provider or college. Heart of England Training has great links with employers so if you would like to progress onto a paid apprenticeship or full time employment we can assist you.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however if you do not hold a GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths, we will incorporate English and/or Maths functional skills into your training.

What you will learn

  • You'll perform facial treatments and skin care routines on clients.
  • You'll carry out waxing, manicures, and pedicures to professional standards.
  • You'll apply makeup and nail art techniques.
  • You'll practise body massage and spray tanning treatments.
  • You'll handle reception duties and promote products and services.
  • You'll follow health and safety procedures in a salon environment.
  • You'll develop customer service skills working with a real client base.

How you will learn

You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in a working commercial salon, treating real clients under tutor supervision. Theory is covered in dedicated study rooms alongside practical work. Assessment for the NVQ Diploma is competency-based: tutors observe you carrying out treatments and you build a portfolio of evidence. You'll also complete written assessments covering the theory behind each treatment.
