About this course

Free Level 2 Beauty Therapy Course in Leicester. Classes run at Leicester Hair & Beauty Academy. You'll attend the academy three to four days per week, working on real clients in a fully equipped commercial salon from the start. The course covers facials, waxing, manicures, pedicures, body massage, makeup, and reception duties, alongside health and safety and customer service. Functional Skills in English and Maths are built in if you need them. This level 2 beauty therapy qualification takes one year full-time.

Who this course is for

Beauty Therapy is a growing industry with services such as spray tanning waxing and body massage becoming more and more popular. On a Full Time Beauty Therapy Course with Heart of England Training you will be based at one of our training centres which are fully functional commercial salons, complete with additional study rooms enabling you to study the theory behind the treatments and then put your skills into practice on real clients.

We offer Beauty Therapy at levels 1, 2 and 3. So you can progress through all levels with us without moving to another training provider or college. Heart of England Training has great links with employers so if you would like to progress onto a paid apprenticeship or full time employment we can assist you.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, however if you do not hold a GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in English and Maths, we will incorporate English and/or Maths functional skills into your training.

  • You'll carry out facial treatments and skincare routines on clients.
  • You'll perform manicures, pedicures, and nail art.
  • You'll apply makeup for a range of occasions.
  • You'll carry out waxing and body massage treatments.
  • You'll promote products and services to clients.
  • You'll handle reception duties and work professionally in a salon environment.
  • You'll apply health and safety practices throughout all treatments.

How you will learn

You'll learn through hands-on practical sessions in a working commercial salon, treating real clients from early in the course. Theory is covered in dedicated study rooms alongside practical work. Assessment for the City and Guilds NVQ Diploma is competence-based, meaning you're assessed on your practical performance and knowledge as you work through each unit.
