About this course

Free Level 2 Awareness of Mental Health Problems Course. Study online at your own pace, fitting learning around your work and home life.

The course is fully funded for eligible adults aged 19 or over. It typically takes 10 weeks to complete. You'll build knowledge of a wide range of conditions, including stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia, eating disorders, ADHD, and OCD.

You'll finish with an NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems.

Who this course is for

Our Awareness of Men's Mental Health Problems course covers a wide range of different mental health problems that can affect men, including depression, stress, anxiety, and PTSD. You will learn about the signs, symptoms, and triggers of poor mental health. In addition, you will learn about the differences in how some mental health conditions present themselves in men and women.

Entry requirements

Aged 19+ as of 31st August 2024. Lived in the EU for 3 years. Available fully funded. Do not hold the same qualification.

  • You'll understand what stress and anxiety are and how they affect people.
  • You'll learn about phobias, depression, and postnatal depression.
  • You'll explore PTSD, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
  • You'll gain knowledge of dementia and how it progresses.
  • You'll study eating disorders, ADHD, and OCD.
  • You'll understand how mental health conditions can affect people in everyday settings.

How you will learn

You'll study entirely online, working through course materials at your own pace. Assessment is through online activities and written tasks linked to each topic. You do not need to attend a classroom or sit a formal exam.

CT Skills will confirm anything you need before you start. Most materials are provided online as part of the course.
