About this course

Free Level 2 Art and Design Course in Grays. Classes run at USP College Palmers Campus, full-time during the day.

The course covers graphic design, digital imaging, fine art, printmaking, sculpture, and photography. You'll work in studio spaces and a computer suite, completing practical projects and assignments throughout the year. Towards the end, there are two controlled assessments where you annotate and evaluate your work. The course takes one year to complete.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Art and Design at Level 2.

Who this course is for

Do you have artistic flair? This course will develop your practical art and design skills. Under the support and guidance of a team of specialist Art & Design lecturing staff, you will complete projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.

Entry requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 3 or above including English Language or Maths. At least one GCSE needs to be at grade 4 or above. You will be required to present a portfolio of artwork to a member of our team as part of the interview process.

How you will learn

Towards the end of the course, there are two controlled assessments. These are largely practical but also require you to annotate and evaluate your work. You'll also spend time in a computer suite developing digital skills. Entry requires four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language or Maths, with at least one at grade 4 or above. You'll also present a portfolio of artwork as part of the interview process.
