Free Level 1 Painting and Decorating Course in Birmingham. Classes run at South & City College Birmingham Longbridge Construction Campus. This is a full-time, daytime painting and decorating qualification covering the practical skills and trade knowledge you need to start working in the industry. Over one year, you'll learn surface preparation, tool selection, and brush and roller techniques in fully equipped workshops. If you're 16 to 18 and haven't yet achieved GCSE maths and English at Grade 4, you'll study those alongside the course.
Who this course is for
This is a basic introductory course covering the practical and job related knowledge required for a career in painting and decorating. This course is aimed at school leavers or at those wishing to enter the construction industry for the first time. The Diploma Level 1 gives a good grounding in the trade with progression available to Level 2.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry criteria for this course, however if you are aged 16-19 and have not achieved GCSE maths and English to Grade 4, you will study for these alongside this qualification.
