About this course

Free Level 1 Maths Course in Northallerton. Classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service. Daytime sessions run part-time, so you can fit study around family or other commitments. Over 55 hours, you'll build your maths skills and work toward a recognised maths qualification without sitting a traditional exam. This free maths course for adults is open to anyone who does not already hold a Level 1 or higher maths qualification. You'll finish with a City and Guilds Certificate in Mathematics Skills.

Who this course is for

This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current level 1 or higher qualification.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at

You'll learn in a classroom with a tutor. There is no exam. Instead, you'll be assessed through coursework and tasks completed during the course. Your tutor will guide you through each topic and check your progress as you go.
