About this course

Free Level 1 Employability Skills Course in Worksop. Classes run at Worksop Library, full-time during the day.

The course is for 16 to 19 year olds, or up to 24 years old for learners with a learning difficulty. You'll build job-seeking skills and gain work experience to help you move into a traineeship, internship, or apprenticeship. Maths and English are also part of the programme. The course runs over one year.

You'll finish with an AIM Qualifications Extended Certificate in Employability Skills at Level 1.

Who this course is for

This is a level 2 qualification in employability for 16-19 year olds (or up to 24 with learning difficulty) which is delivered at Worksop Library. The study programme provides activities to improve young peoples' job seeking skills, and provides work experience that prepares learners to move on to a traineeship, internship or apprenticeship. Our students will also study maths and english. The student will also be able to apply for a bursary and to claim student travel.

  • You'll improve your maths skills as part of the programme.
  • You'll improve your English skills as part of the programme.
  • You'll explore routes into traineeships, internships, and apprenticeships.

How you will learn

You'll study in a classroom at Worksop Library. Learning is hands-on and activity-based, covering job-seeking skills and work experience. You'll also take part in maths and English sessions. Assessment is through coursework and practical tasks completed during the programme.

What you will need to bring

The centre will provide most materials. Worksop Library will confirm anything else you need before you start.
