Free Level 1 Construction Skills Course in Rugby. Classes run at Rugby College, full-time during the day. You'll cover both practical and theory work across a range of trades: bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, and painting and decorating. Maths and English are built into the course; if you already hold these at grade 4 or above, you won't need to study them again. The course runs for one year. A solid level 1 construction skills qualification for anyone looking to move into the construction industry.
Who this course is for
You will study both practical and theory units in a range of construction trades including bricklaying, carpentry, plastering and painting and decorating. This course is ideal for those looking to gain employment in the construction industry or progression to a specialised trade.Please note: maths and English are an integral part of this course. However if you already hold these qualifications at grade 4 or above then you will be exempt from studying for these qualifications.Learners will engage in additional extra curricular activities such as charity projects, community events and working with local schools.Learners will also have opportunity to take part in course relevant trips, such as, the Construction Show at the NEC.Learners will attend site visits throughout the year to gain industry insight.
