About this course

Level 1 Art and Design Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Nottingham College Adams Building, full-time during the day. Students aged 16 to 18 years old do not pay tuition fees. If you are 19 or over, you may still be eligible for funding.

The course runs for one year and covers drawing, painting, textiles, fashion, ceramics, print-making, graphic design, and 3D design. You'll work on creative projects and build skills in planning, communication, and teamwork. English and Maths study is included each week as part of the programme.

You'll finish with a University of the Arts London Diploma in Art, Design and Media.

You'll learn the different aspects of art and design, as well as the experience you'll need to bring your ideas to life.

Entry requirements

You'll need 4 GCSEs at grades 3-1 (D-G), including English Language and Maths at grades 3-1 (D-G) or a relevant Entry 3 vocational qualification and you will also be asked to sit an Initial Assessment. The Initial Assessment must show that you are ready to study English and Maths at Level 1. If your results are lower than this, don't worry, we'll find the right course for you.

You'll also complete weekly English and Maths classes as part of your programme, unless you already hold a GCSE grade 4 or above in both subjects.
