About this course

BTEC Level 2 Art and Design Course in Nottingham. Classes run at Nottingham College Adams Building, full-time during the day. Students aged 16 to 18 years old do not pay tuition fees. If you are 19 or over, you may still be eligible for funding.

The course covers fashion design, pattern cutting, textile techniques, and fabric manipulation. You'll also study fashion business skills including branding, promotion, and merchandising. You'll build a portfolio of creative work across the year. Entry requires four GCSEs at grades A* to D, including English Language and Maths, plus a portfolio showing an interest in fashion.

You'll finish with a Pearson Edexcel BTEC Diploma in Art and Design Skills at Level 2.

Entry requirements

You'll need 4 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D), including English Language and Maths - one of English Language or Maths must be grade 9-4 (A*-C).

Functional Skills Level 1 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 3 (D) and Functional Skills Level 2 can be used as equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above.

You will also need a portfolio of work, demonstrating an interest in fashion.
