About this course

Free GCSE English Language Course in Grays. Evening classes run at USP College Palmers Campus on Monday evenings, 6 to 8pm. The course is free if you haven't already achieved a GCSE grade 4 or above in English Language.

You'll study reading, writing, speaking and listening. The course covers a wide range of texts from the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. You'll also practise imaginative, argumentative and discursive writing. Classes include group discussions and presentations alongside independent study supported by online resources. The course takes one year, part-time.

You'll finish with a GCSE in English Language.

Who this course is for

This is a FREE* course for learners aged 19 or over who need to obtain a GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English Language.

The course will give you the opportunity to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. It is designed to prepare you for a wide range of occupations and further study.

You will be introduced to a broad range of activities, tasks and stimulus materials, all designed to provide opportunities to practice the skills necessary to be successful in the final examinations.

The final assessment is two written exam papers.
