What you will learn
You'll read and understand different types of texts, including everyday documents and longer pieces of writing.
You'll write clearly for different purposes, such as letters, emails, and short reports.
You'll use correct spelling, punctuation, and grammar in your writing.
You'll identify the main points and purpose of spoken and written information.
You'll take part in discussions and communicate information clearly to others.
You'll plan and organise your writing so it makes sense to the reader.
How you will learn
Classes are delivered face to face at The Coleridge Centre on weekday evenings. You'll work through reading, writing, and communication tasks in class, with support from a tutor. Assessment is through a formal written exam and a speaking and listening assessment. You'll have an initial assessment before the course starts to confirm Level 1 is the right level for you.
