Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths in Chorley. Classes run at Living Waters Church. Daytime sessions run part-time over 55 hours, making it manageable alongside other commitments. No prior qualifications are needed. You'll work on the everyday maths skills used in work and daily life, covering number, measures, and handling data. This entry level functional skills maths course is a recognised step toward Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills Maths, the GCSE maths alternative accepted by many employers and colleges.
Who this course is for
Via our Multiply funded project and for lower skilled an/or unemployed residents of Lancashire. Adults lacking confidence in maths can gain an Entry level 3 qualification in functional maths.
Entry requirements
No prior qualifications necessary, an interest in improving your Maths is all we need!
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
You'll understand and use simple fractions and percentages.
You'll read and interpret straightforward tables, charts, and graphs.
You'll use measures such as length, weight, capacity, and time in practical contexts.
You'll handle money and work out basic calculations involving cost and change.
You'll solve simple problems using maths in everyday situations.
How you will learn
You'll learn in a classroom at Living Waters Church, with a tutor guiding you through each topic. Assessment is through a written test set by City and Guilds. You'll complete the test when your tutor confirms you're ready. There is no coursework portfolio for this qualification. The test covers the skills taught during the course.

The centre will provide most materials. Living Waters Church will confirm anything else you need before you start.
