About this course

Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths Course in Woking. Classes run at Woking Adult Learning Centre, part-time during the day. Weekly two-hour sessions run for 22 weeks, from January to July. This free functional skills maths course is open to adults aged 19 or over who do not already hold a GCSE in Maths at grade D or above (grade 3 or above). You'll complete an online initial assessment before you start, so you're placed at the right level. The course prepares you for the Entry Level 3 exam.

Who this course is for

You need to be 19 or over on the 31st of August 2025 and not have a grade A* - D / grade 9 - 3 GCSE in Maths. Entry Requirements You will need to complete an online initial assessment. This will help us place you on the correct course. Attendance You will be required to attend at least 90% of your classes. Should your attendance fall below this, your place on the course may be at risk. This is an academic course, and you must allow time for private study at home of at least 2 hours per week.

  • You'll prepare for the Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths exam.

How you will learn

You'll attend a two-hour class each week at Woking Adult Learning Centre, taught by a subject specialist. You'll also be expected to do at least two hours of private study at home each week. The centre supports your independent learning through online tools including Moodle and BKSB. The course ends with a formal written exam. You must attend at least 90% of your classes to keep your place.

You'll need a ring binder or folder, lined paper, pens and pencils. You'll also need access to a computer or laptop and a printer for home study.
