Free Entry Level 3 Functional Skills Maths in Catterick Garrison. Evening classes run at Catterick Library & Information Centre, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll work with whole numbers, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • You'll understand and use simple fractions and percentages in everyday contexts.
  • You'll read, measure, and compare lengths, weights, capacity, and time.
  • You'll handle money and work out straightforward costs and change.
  • You'll read and interpret simple charts, tables, and graphs.
  • You'll solve practical maths problems drawn from everyday life and work situations.

How you will learn

Classes are delivered in a classroom at Catterick Library & Information Centre. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions and practice activities. Assessment is by a written test set and marked by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass the test to earn your certificate. Your tutor will help you prepare throughout the course.
