Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Maths in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Skipton Adult Learning & Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. You'll cover the core maths skills assessed at Entry Level 2, including working with numbers, measures, and simple data. The course runs over 18 weeks part-time. You'll have an initial assessment to confirm this is the right level for you. A free functional skills maths course for adults who don't yet hold an Entry Level 2 or higher maths qualification.

To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
You'll add, subtract, multiply, and divide using everyday contexts.
You'll handle money, including giving change and working out simple totals.
You'll read and use simple measures such as length, weight, and time.
You'll interpret straightforward data from tables, charts, and lists.
You'll solve practical maths problems you might meet at work or in daily life.
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based and run in the evening. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions and practical activities. Assessment for the City and Guilds Entry Level 2 qualification is through a formal test. Your tutor will prepare you for this during the course. You'll also complete tasks and exercises in class to build your skills as you go.
