About this course

Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English in Selby. Evening classes run at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around your week. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

What you will learn

  • You'll write simple sentences using basic punctuation and spelling.
  • You'll communicate clearly in everyday speaking and listening situations.
  • You'll follow and give simple instructions and information.
  • You'll complete forms and short written tasks relevant to daily life and work.

How you will learn

Classes are classroom based and run in the evening at Selby Adult Learning and Skills Service. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions, group activities, and written tasks. Assessment is through set tasks and a formal test that covers reading, writing, and speaking and listening components, as required for the City and Guilds Entry Level 2 Functional Skills Qualification in English.
