Free Entry Level 2 Functional Skills English in Northallerton. Evening classes run at Northallerton Adult Education, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. The course runs over 18 weeks part-time. You'll build reading, writing, and communication skills at Entry Level 2. This is a free functional skills english course for adults who don't yet hold an Entry Level 2 English qualification or higher. To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at enrolment stage and may contact

You'll write simple sentences using basic punctuation and spelling.
You'll communicate clearly in straightforward everyday situations.
You'll identify the main points in spoken and written information.
You'll complete simple forms and written tasks accurately.

How you will learn
Classes are classroom based at Northallerton Adult Education. You'll learn through a mix of group activities, written tasks, and guided practice with your tutor. Assessment is through a formal written test and a speaking and listening assessment, both set by City and Guilds. You'll need to pass each component to earn the qualification.
