Free Entry Level 1 Maths Course in Catterick Garrison. Evening classes run at Catterick Library & Information Centre, so you can fit study around your week. This is a free maths course for adults aged 19 or over who want to build their maths skills and gain a maths qualification without sitting a formal exam. You must not already hold an Entry Level 1 or higher maths qualification. The course runs over 55 hours, part-time.

This course is for people who want to improve their Maths skills and gain a qualification in Maths without having to take an exam.You must not have a current Entry 1 level or higher qualification.
Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice, further eligibility may be linked to where you live and we will check that at
What you will learn
You'll work with whole numbers, including counting, ordering, and simple calculations.
You'll handle basic addition and subtraction in everyday contexts.
You'll recognise and use simple shapes and measurements.
You'll read and interpret straightforward data, such as charts and tables.
You'll apply maths to practical, real-life situations.
How you will learn
You'll learn through classroom-based activities at Catterick Library & Information Centre during evening sessions. Assessment is ongoing and portfolio-based, so there is no formal exam. Your work is assessed through tasks and activities completed during the course, which is how you earn the City and Guilds maths certificate at the end.
