About this course

CMI Level 3 First Line Management. Study online at your own pace, with live classes at 1pm each week through Loughborough College.

Fees may apply depending on your age and circumstances. Some learners may be entitled to fee remission, so it is worth contacting the college to check. The course is assessed through written assignments. You can base these on your own workplace or use theory-based examples. Topics include management skills, team leadership, and supervisory practice. The course typically takes 12 to 18 months to complete.

You'll finish with a CMI Diploma in First Line Management and Leadership at Level 3.

Who this course is for

The Diploma in Management and Leadership is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Students study part-time and complete written assignments that may be based on your own organisation and job role or more theory based examples. This qualification is suitable for those who are, or wish to become, team leaders and/or supervisors. This includes individuals who are at the start of their career that wish to become team leaders/ supervisors as well as those aspiring or existing managers who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills further. This flexible course combines online learning with virtual lessons. This Level 3 course is part of the Free Courses for Jobs initiative and is fully funded for eligible learners. Alternatively, you can apply for an advanced learner loan to cover the cost of studying this course. Please ask a member of college staff for more information. Please note: The course starts in October and June. Attendance is once a month depending on the Unit. A full itinerary will be given in advance of the course.

Entry requirements

Learners should have achieved qualifications in English and mathematics at a minimum of level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent. Additional informationThis is a distance learning qualification studied online. Online classes will be at 1pm. The Diploma course will typically take 12-18 months to complete but can take less depending on the prior experience of the individual.

What you will need to bring

You will need a device with internet access and a reliable internet connection to join live online classes and submit assignments. You should have qualifications in English and maths at Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) before you start. Loughborough College will confirm what else you need before you start.
