BTEC Level 3 Sports Coaching and Development Course in Southend-on-Sea. Classes run at South Essex College Southend Campus, full-time over two years. The course is free if you're under 19 and not in employment. If you're 18 as of 31 August 2024, you'll enrol on the one-year Level 3 Diploma first. Completing year one successfully means you can apply for an Advanced Learner Loan to fund year two. This Pearson Edexcel level 3 btec sports coaching and development qualification covers coaching skills, sports development, fitness training, and sports injuries. Entry requires four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, or a Level 2 qualification.

Who this course is for

This course is aimed at those wanting to progress directly to employment, including self-employment, in sports coaching and development roles. It is also suitable for those wishing to progress to higher education (university), where learners would have the added advantage of using this qualification to obtain part-time employment while studying.

The content of this course has been developed in discussion with employers and professional bodies so you can be certain that what you are going to learn will be directly transferable to employment in the sports industry, with specific focus on coaching and development. The BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Sports Coaching and Development is equivalent in size to three A Levels.
