Free AAT Level 2 Bookkeeping Course in Scarborough. Evening classes run at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service, so you can fit study around work or other commitments. This is a free AAT bookkeeping course for adults aged 19 or over who meet the funding eligibility criteria. Sessions run for 4 hours per week, part-time. You'll cover the core skills employers look for in an accounts environment, from recording transactions to understanding double-entry bookkeeping. The level 2 AAT bookkeeping qualification is well regarded by employers in finance and accounts roles.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for funding for courses you must be over 19 years of age as at 31st August in the current academic year and not be an apprentice,further eligibility may be linked to where you live and your individual income.

You'll record financial transactions accurately using double-entry bookkeeping
You'll understand the principles of accounts payable and accounts receivable
You'll prepare and reconcile bank statements
You'll use the books of prime entry, including sales, purchases, and cash books
You'll understand VAT and how it applies to business transactions
You'll produce a trial balance from accounting records
How you will learn
Classes are classroom based, meeting one evening per week at Scarborough Adult Learning and Skills Service. You'll learn through tutor-led sessions and practical exercises. Assessment for the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping is by computer-based exams set and marked by AAT. You'll sit these exams when your tutor confirms you're ready.
