About this course

Access to HE Nursing and Midwifery Diploma. Study online at your own pace over 12 months. An Advanced Learning Loan may be available to cover the cost, subject to eligibility.

The course covers biological science, psychology, and sociology. You'll also build academic writing and research skills. Monthly one-to-one sessions with an assessor keep you on track, supported by contact through Teams, email, and phone. You'll need Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE Maths and English at grade C or grade 4 or above to join.

You'll finish with the AIM Qualifications Access to HE Diploma (Nursing and Midwifery) at Level 3.

Entry requirements

Level 2 Functional Skills English, Level 1 Functional Skills Maths or GCSE in Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade C/4 or above or be working towards them alongside studying your Access to Higher Education Diploma.

GCSE Biology or Science at grade A*-C/9-4 if you are wanting to study midwifery. or be working towards this alongside studying for your Access to Higher Education Diploma.

A good level of ICT skills.

The course is intensive and requires time outside of sessions for research and completing work.

What you will need to bring

You'll need a device capable of running Microsoft Teams and word-processing software, as most assignments must be typewritten. London Learning Consortium will confirm anything else you need before you start.
