Teaching Assistant Level 2 Course in Derby. Classes run at Derby College on Tuesday mornings, part-time over 25 weeks. You must be aged 19 or over to enrol. It is the first step on the ladder to developing your knowledge and understanding of what is involved in enhancing the learning experience in educational settings.  The course leads to a variety of other programmes that could allow you to become qualified as a Teaching Assistant. This qualification is an introduction to the knowledge and understanding needed to work in a school or college environment. It can apply to the many varied roles that full and part-time support staff may fulfil including administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles and volunteering, as well as roles that work directly with children and young people in the learning environment.With DCG you will have access to a wealth of support and additional courses that can complement your career development. If you need to gain a grade C/4 or equivalent in GCSE English and/or Maths, you can work towards that here at College.You will enjoy free access to our library and our online resources.  You will receive training in accessing these. How you will learn

Classes run in person at Derby College every Tuesday from 09:30 to 12:30. You'll learn through classroom sessions covering the knowledge and understanding needed for support roles in education. Assessment for the NCFE Level 2 Award is knowledge-based, typically through written assignments and tasks completed during the course. An interview is required before you start.
