Who this course is for

This qualification prepares learners for further learning and training whilst developing an understanding of the teaching and learning environment in a school setting. It covers areas such as how to support the well-being of a child or young person and child and young person development.

There are three units you will cover which includes:

There will also be some independent learning.

How you will learn

You'll attend classroom sessions on Monday mornings at Ashton Sixth Form College. Assessment is internal and uses a range of methods. These include written assignments, designing a leaflet or booklet, creating charts or diagrams, and setting up an information board. There is also some independent learning outside of class. You do not need to be working in a school to complete this qualification.
